Ice

Inside the frozen wasteland that was once a heart, is a tiny ember of warmth. All that is left of the burning compassion of a zen child. Who can reach in through the glacier and bring life to that ember? Who is brave enough to risk their own heart to be forever lost in the void of iciness that was once burning with so much love for the world? A world that kept hurting a heart so pure. A world that could not accept the compassion that heart had to give. A world that aimed only at destroying that which it could not understand. A world that succeeded in turning the purest of love into cold isolation. Love turned to loathing, compassion turned to anger, giving turned to ignoring. The world turned its back on what was offered. And so the heart turned its back on the world. Pain was all it could foresee. Lashing out in fear and anger at those who tried to care. The only defence left for shattered purity. Oh someone please unlock the truth and reach into the frozen rock with the flame of love. Surely there is someone equal to to releasing that hidden warmth. For our sad destructive world has desperate need of this tiny flame that was once so freely given. I have yet to meet one who can help. I myself am to weak. Only the end of life, the cease of that barely beating heart, will reveal the truth to this broken man.
