I Write This Letter Members of the Legislative Branch

I write this letter to the members of the Legislative Branch of the U.S. government
to ask them do they comprehend it's their consitituents whom they're suppose to represent?
you were elected to serve the people in Washington D.C.
your assignment is to enact laws and to set policy
but you've seem to have forgotten the reasons you were elected
it was not to waste tax payers' money nor make them feel disrespected
it was not to promote your own self-importance just because you have the power to say no
it's not to filabuster, nor personal agendas nor to hold up the show
you should be working towards a common goal and learning to compromise
but it seems whenever Democrats make a move the Republicans come out of disguise
it's okay to spend money we don't have under a Republican administation
but when a Democratic President is in office the Right-wingers start the demonstrations
undercover racists whose only goal is to belittle the first African-American President
despite all He's trying to do for the people is pretty evident
healthcare for all Americans, decent wages and Green technology
insuring our well-being, saving this planet and no more poverty salaries
what are the Republicans trying to perpetrate?
they're acting like hypocrites full of jealousy, envy and hate
trying to stop bills what will ease our social and economic strain
they don't even care if their own constituents feel the pain
they very ones who were against the Stimulus Plan the President said was required
are the two-faced individuals who that money for their districts they now desire
how do they look in the mirror and not see two faces looking back?
one the persona of public perfection the other of ridicule and attack
reconciliation is only okay when the Republicans have the majority
but heaven forbid if the Democrats try to adopt the same strategy

i write this letter so that American people can clearly see
that the officials in Washington have made government a mockery
i don't know about you America but i see the writing on the wall
the Republican's only agenda is to see President Obama fall
to all Democrats you need to show some balls on the Congressional and Senate floors
fix the economy, reduce unemployment and get true reforms out the door

i write this letter to the members of Congress and the Senate on Capitol Hill
to tell them to get their act together and abide by the people's will
it's not about you, it's not about me
it's about what best for this great country
