I Would Listen To Your Voice
If you asked, I would listen to your voice
treasure all your secrets shared by choice
hold them lest they fear your letting go
for there are things about you I don’t know
and yet we share this moment in the lea
cool silence asking what would set us free
from all that’s tied our tongues in needless lies
that fill our tearless eyes with empty sighs.
And yet, the truth has slowly ebbed its way
across our lives and brought us to this day
to turn the tide and wash away the guilt
to feel it washing through our toes as silt.
For I will listen - place my self aside
true friends, ‘tis said, have nothing they should hide.
