I Wish I Was a Beagle

i wish i was a beagle
long fat and always legal
no hunting creatures
I'd change those features
a king of dogs most regal

The first dog I ever had was a beagle, I found her stray in the woods when I was 10 years old. We never found the owners and nobody ever claimed her, so we kept her and had her for 15 years before she passed of old age. "Snoopy" Great poem, Mick, good luck in the contest...Charlie

Fingers crossed '-) I don't know about dogs writing poetry but I had one that could talk, I asked it what it thought of Cornwall, it being a rather hilly county. Its reply, "RUFF"! Whoosh.......................... I'm outa here LOL Thanks Tom. Mick
