Line of inquiry:

The ego within forced me to resist
But now I wish I had effused a love mist
With aplomb and flair, just kind of left it there
For self-aware souls passing by, who choose to pair

My Poem:

A silent flame burst from my soul,
When he was nearby, there was joy I could not control
A wonderful I can’t describe with mere words…
It felt like passion from a fire, feverish at the least,
Burning through my every fear,
Reassuring me that, because he was near,
I could trust the feelings, the flames, the healing,
All the music that poured from my spirit,
Flowing across my life in poetic prisms,
Lifting me up so that I could glimpse the beauty,
The light of a heart, flushed by the flames of love.

A gentle feeling rising from the flames,
Carrying my hopes, my faith, my dreams…
Erasing the darkness with a weightless elation,
Feelings so electrifying, they teased my imagination,
Bringing me through the roaring storms of loss,
Embracing me with the music that uplifts my heart,
Hushing all the doubts that reflect my insecurities,
Promising me that, in time, I’ll know with surety,
The love that has come to live inside me,
Where only my spirit can reflect the thrill,
The exultation of knowing this love is real!

A miracle, a promise, a kindness that blazes,
With enthusiasm that comes from knowing…
This love I feel, it is more than simply real!

It is alive, like the fire who heats up each kiss,
The brilliance of a hunger for love,
Just like this – love that I cannot resist,
Love that stills my every suspicion,
Gives me a reason for always believing,
Quiets my worries with a promise of mercy,
The living proof that this love is true.
This love I have for the one I adore –
This is a love that pours out something more.

This love – it empties me of my misgivings,
Encourages me to listen to the singing of my dreams,
Comforts me with a peace that reminds me I am designed –
To love with a love that gives, despite the darkest night…

Because I know the rhythm of his heart next to mine,
I can honestly say that this love has made a way,
So that I can reach beyond the pain, into the grace,
That comes from knowing – love like this is flowing…
With the richness of God’s spirit, His gift to those who can see…
Through the hues of melancholy, into the depths of love’s sweet,
The love that lives, because He gives – each heart a song,
Meant to burn away all the doubt, reassure every spark…

From the heart, there comes love that is meant to be sought,
Love that is forever a part of the life who agrees…
To give a part of themselves,… with love that never burns out!

Another excellent poem dear Regina.. The incorporation of themes of faith and spirituality adds depth to the poem, as it suggests that love is not merely a human emotion but also a divine gift, bestowed upon those who are open to receiving it. Overall, the poem is a heartfelt exploration of the myriad emotions and experiences that accompany love, expressed with sincerity and poetic grace.
