I Whispered To the Wind

I whispered to the wind
the longings of my heart
and let it carry my message
to my love that lives afar

I sent him my kisses
through the wind as it passed
and deliver it for me
on the face of my love

I uttered my prayers
to the briefly passing wind
and asked it to hand over
my worries and fears to God

I know He will listen
to my silent prayers
that only the passing wind
can hear and deliver

Soft gentle wind
be the messenger
of my secret longings
the silent whispers of my heart
