I Watched You Change
I saw you morph to a butterfly.
An aristocrat of a lover's lie.
The innocence you doth carried,
For sorrow and carnage were married.
Eerie follies of moments never forgotten
And crescents of emotions left to be rotten.
Are you the pinnacle of my hopeful calling?
For your sought for help seems to be stalling.
The never-ending solstice you’ve achieved,
Threw you down the spiral you had grieved.
Embracing the thought I’d never chanced to ponder,
That this underlying mask forces you to wander.
The unfeeling shadows you’re told to ignore,
Crawls up your spine to a hallowed, soulless core.
Fearful drops fall from thy kindred eye,
Symbolizing the youthful spirit you deny.
This reflector placed upon the wall,
Displays an astonishing being to ever sprawl.
Hello freed caterpillar of the strange.
I watched you change.
