I Was There Watching

I remember the smiles
The twinkle in their eyes

Twas the edge of the emerald forest it was
Where they danced in the twilight of the morn
It was only yesterday ~ but I was there
Dancing along with them!

No, no it was not a dream
We held hands as I heard
The temple bells ring out
In the cool summer breeze
The night shadows danced on the winds
No,,,, it was not a dream!

Songs from the sea whispered by
As I caught the light from the diamonds
No,,,,, they were not dew drops
The unicorn from the emerald forest
   told me so!

Was it just a lullaby from yesterday
No, it could not be for I was there
dancing along with them,,, I remember

Wrote this way back on Jan. 29th 1987 Thurs. 10pm

Debby, It's a funny coincidence that our poems are located by each other. That was very kind of you to send me a comment about mine and the fact that you did has given me an internal smile! In the past couple of years I have been able to forgive anything I felt hurt or angry about, and that has enabled me to exist in a state of constant pleasure. All remarkable and it has taught me a lot. I hope you are well, smiling, and please let me know how you are doing!!! Take care!!

I had to find this one after your comment on Life Interrupted. Fantastic! Your images and feelings are so real I felt like I was there too. I love the line, "It was only yesterday" It feels that way sometimes doesn't it?

And so the trail continues on beyond the dusk into the dawn. Inspired by the temple bells. Reality whispers beyond our hells. Ethereal dreams of emerald green. So tell us Debbie, what do they mean?

And on the edge of steamy shores there stood the mysterious four doors. Beyond their creak the world unfolds unto ethereal stories untold. Where dreams and dances begin their flight. Among the branches stretched out of sight. The cast of creatures who cast their spells. Into the souls who ring their bells. The twinkling coolness whispered sweet. Into the heart and made it beat. Yes I was watching too. That day you thought it was only you. :)

Beautiful imagery, Debbie! Oh, "for I was there", goes above and beyond pure fiction and fantasy. It was like being in another dimension that could be possible when your heart and mind is open. Enjoyed this write, thank you for sharing! Best wishes, Mikki

I did feel like I was there,,, just like astral travel when I'm sleeping/ dreaming. have a blessed day my friend ;}
