I Was Right, Everything Else Was Wrong

I'm in charge of the kids today, while the wife has gone away for the day; The nursery and school drop can't be hard, I think of an easy day in the yard; I'll plan my time with military precision, its simple to do, no difficult decision; Breakfast, brush teeth, then dressed all ready my plan for the day should run quite steady; We're ready to go with time to spare, but what's that smell coming from down there; The little one needs his nappy changed, dont panic, contingency plans already made; There's time to do this and be on my way, but what's that I hear the older one say "Dad I need to go to the loo, I'm desperate for a number two" Quickly I usher him to complete his deed, "Hurry up" I say with an urgent need; If we walk quickly we can make up lost time, marching like soldiers to the finish line; Half way there we're back on track, my phone then rings, oh damn who's that; "It's me darling, I forgot to say You need to walk a different way. The nursery roof blew off last night, They've moved it to a different site" I turn on my heels picking up speed, I drop off the young one streaming sweat beads; Then to the school I make my mission, outside the gates there's a parked electrician; Kids and parents hanging around, only to find we're all homeward bound; No school today due to dangerous wiring, this piece of cake task has been very tiring.
