I Want To Love You

I want to love you, but you make it a chore One shouldn’t have to work so hard to love Still, I want you more and more, I can’t help it when push comes to shove. My feelings for you are difficult to explain I want to love you, but you make it a chore Time after time I’ve made my feelings plain And every time you shut the door. I fear I am beginning to sound like a boor, But I am trying to honestly tell you how I feel, I want to love you, but you make it a chore Slowly I’m beginning to question your appeal. If you don’t share these feelings I have inside Emotions I have shared many times before I’m wondering if you’re taking me for a ride I want to love you, but you make it a chore. Maybe that is the appeal, to have is the goal. Once obtained, will it remain desirable?

Perhaps those are the ones that need it most, cuz they haven't learned how to love themselves? (not that one needs sacrifice themselves for their affections.)

Oh, this was pretty much fictional, Michael. I don't really know what prompted it, but I do know that many guys and gals feel this way toward a potential partner.

Oh, I don't know, Anaya. This was written not about me or what's going on in my life. I don't know where it came from, just appeared out of the blue, and I realized lots of guys feel like this (ladies, too, I reckon).
