I Want the World To Stop Moving

I want to bend my fingers
so far back, I feel the
nails on my wrist bone

Crunch them into fists
until fingertips
pass through the
other side

Scream in agony
and retch until
I my heart stops
screaming

I want to bend my fingers
so far back, I feel the
nails scrape against the
wrist bone
...So far back
I'll finally be free
to live in the past

I am feeling the urge to go back and read poetry from earlier writing of my favorite poets today and this is the one I opened of yours Charmane. I truly enjoyed reading it today and it is one of your best. Love, Carol
