For Jason, with love <3 :)

I walk this silent road with you I am so tired, you too? Today I screamed: "I run away, No way I stay!" I have no food, a hurting tummy I don't feel so good Mommy can make pancakes, yummie Shall we go home? I want to sleep Maybe I can keep You if I ask her so polite? You stay tonight With me? Come, run, we're almost there "Mommy, I'm back!" She didn't notice I ran off... Or even care!!! Come kitty, here's water and food It tastes so good! And now my bed, need sleep... And you I keep! *** April 20, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

Admirable the picture, the poem, the feeling. I like the role of the Tom cat. Best wishes. Wonderful poem, indeed.

This is clever and adorable. I found a kitten in the woods, walking home from school when I was 7. I carried it 4 miles to my home and I got to keep it. Such a happy day. Your poem brought back those memories. Thank You for sharing this :)

Reminds me of me, I can not turn a stray away for anything. My cat population has grown from one to three in the last couple of weeks.

Jason had this picture, and he loved it so much and asked me to write a poem for it. And this, what you say, what Charma says, is exactly what I felt when seeing it. It's nice you like it too :)

Oh what a lovely bond between a child and his pet...It seems they both slept happy and tummy full in the end...Lovely story...Reminds me of when I was a kid.Infront of mom's house was not like today full of other houses and roadways...There were just fields and one street...So I wandered off many times..and like this boy in the poem..tried to take many street-dogs and cats in the house... :)Smiles.

Darren, this is such a heartbreaking poem, 'She didn't notice I ran off . . . Or even care', we have simply no idea sometimes what suffering children go through. Thank you for being their voice:) Amicalement, Anne-Marie
