I Use to Have Fun

I use to have fun on the monkey bars,
or laying flat on the window ledge in the back of cars.
I use to have fun climbing high in the tree,
well until granny yelled at me.
I use to have fun on the merry-go-round,
and swinging as high as the birds without feet on the ground.
I use to have fun as a child at play,
but, now I have to work each day.

I'm pretty sure most here can identify with you here Miranda. Hopefully you get a little R&R in every now and again in reality :)

yeah, I know the feeling. But now I have other kind of food that is just as good in its own way! I am retired but I still work part time(trying to keep the mind sharp) and I am fortunate to have a fun job!

Childhood is so carefree with lots of mischief and fun. But as we grow up, responsibilities will weigh us down. I too nostalgically think of my childhood days. Well done, dear Miranda.

We should all write one like this; the freedom-fun things we did as children. Your poem reminded me of how high I soared on swings & how fast I went on 60's skates down sidewalks and streets. Your sweet poem brought much of my child back to me. ALSO, please see my response to your blog. I was a rule-breaking submittal, but not intentionally - I think what I wrote will make you feel better ... CayCay
