I Took a Plane Here

I took a plane here I did not come by boat But I could cross the border if I cared If all this swell and fret of ego Protected something I need to get You did not invent the wheel You did not invent the land You did not invent my labor That built you towers of sand I am your first technology Your first foundation And still the medium of your exchange I am the price of all your values The one who need to escape And if truth be told I can only be illegal if I go back home So you can transport me again Kidnap me from my village joys Shackle my ingenuity That build the universe of thought The cornerstone of civilization And lead my like a prisoner Extradited Like a black market of gold I took a plane here For there is something about the ocean My black soul cannot trust again
