I Thought You Would Let Me In

I'm not in the mood for your silly game.
You promise me what you will never give.
My heart's consumed by your passionate flame.

Without you it feels like I cannot live.
It's not your body I long to possess.
You promise me what you will never give.

At twenty eight I've experienced success.
When it comes to you I will never win.
It's not your body I long to possess.

There are times I think you will let me in.
Allow me to love the person you are.
When it comes to you I will never win.

Where do you go when your eyes seem so far?
I see you laugh as the distance grows.
Allow me to love the person you are.

In your sarcasm your intention shows.
I see you laugh as the distance grows.
I'm not in the mood for your silly game.

Twenty three years have passed and I can still recall as if it were yesterday.
Being with a person who plays games ties your heart in knots. So glad
I we didn't stay together and I was able to find my sweetie. Life is good.

Richard Lamoureux May 8, 2013 at 8:06 PM Yes I was in an 11 year relationship, the one described here was much shorter. I am very thankfull how things turned out in the end. If I had stayed with her it would have been a disaster.
