I Thought It Was You
Listen to poem:
I saw you in the street again.
That's when..
like a shadow that turned,
and disappeared in the light.
I knew it was you.
They're coming back you know,
the memories I sold.
Have you been following me?
I wanted it to be, I wanted you.
Those days told in a truth..,
of youth, and glad heart's touch,
they thought we two,
were us.
When I awoke from a long sleep,
I thought it was you, I swear.
The love shared seemed so real,
taught me how to feel.
Now I know it was false,
just a hoax,
of what was supposed to be,
you and me..
I thought it was you.
I guess I forgot our sleepy dreams.
But how could I?
Lost in the past,
now I want them back.
I can tell now, see it in those eyes..
I had to look away, damn it,
had to.
I loved another because.., I thought it was you.
But it wasn't, I'm so sorry..
it wasn't you.
