I Stand In Prayer

I stand before you, I pause, I halt, and lay bare my very soul, Lord, I have been humbled, been saved, blessed with a new song in my heart. I have faced the angel of death, with no fear for you held my hand, my lighthouse, my true north star, my light that shines from within. Strong, bright and clear for all eternity, beauty dwells not of face, hair or body, but of soul, the beauty resides within, and like a beacon leads the way. ___________________________ September 12, 2012 Poetry/Free Verse/I Stand In Prayer Copyright Protected, ID 09-420-164-12 All Rights Reserved 2012, Constance La France Written for the Standard contest, Stand sponsor, Debbi Guzzi, Judged 09/17/2012 Tenth Place Submitted to the Standard contest, A poem you love that placed 10th in another contest, Judged First Place
