I Spent the Night, But Not Alone

I spent the night, but not alone, For I was with the sea— Alone with her, my mistress, And in love with only she. No other understands me, My insecurities, and all— No other knows my heart as well, And can sooth my weary soul. And if ever I am lonely; Needing someone at my side... I reserve a moonlit beach for two— Till comes again, the Tide!

I love the ocean..and I can understand the beauty of it...The intimate relationship between two..I have that same love for it..and even more love for the mountains and fields.Very talented poet.

You very kind, and thank you, Charmaine! I do feel a draw, or attraction to the sea. Why sometimes come the slightest breeze, I can hear her call to me <3 Ken

This goes straight into my FAVES. This is poetry, as I've always thought it should be. Bravo! Best wishes, Gershon

Thanks for the read and the smile. As I have written , to write is to express; to be read is to be acknowledged—and perchance, understood! All the best ~ Ken
