Premiere Contest WinnerI sought the LORD and He answered - (CM)

I sought, in silence, solace and peace,
by which, my dank soul cried 'release'.
From pent up ridicule, guilt and shame,
long nights of torment, I wept Christ's Name.

I wept Christ, as lies pierced my mind,
my sombre spirit poised to - walk the line.
Instead I battled through decades of pain,
led now, to step out, and enjoy the rain.

A moving and candid spiritual testimony, shaped in two balanced quatrains. The recurring “I sought / I wept” gives the piece a prayerful, confessional pulse, while the final image of stepping out to “enjoy the rain” offers a gentle, hopeful release after the darkness. Congratulations on your podium placement.
