I Show You a Mystery
I show you a mystery-
they are “3” yet “1”-
“3” has great value
beauty and clarity-
“ 1” is amorphous-
worthless and ugly-
“2” is flaky yet smooth as velvet
and cabbages and kings
have they in common.
“3” is sought by royalty-
and single ladies as well-
while “1” is the object
of a chimney sweeps ire.
Though “1”and “2” may beget “3”
there is no regret-
when a housewife scrubs away “1”
with “3” on her finger-
or for artists that create with “2” in their hand.
Many have sought to change-
“1” and “2” into “3”-
but only a fool
would seek to change “3”.
“1” is spelled with an S,
and “2” with a G-
while “3” is spelled with a D-
yet all are a form of element C.
Surely by now you must know
what they are.
