I See Beyond
The old woman was crooked and bent;
she moved with care and sorrow.
Her face showed all the years of toil
with little hope for tomorrow.
Yet I see beyond her shuffling walk
to the light left in her eyes.
For many years she's graced this earth;
she's interesting and wise.
I see the girl that she once was
not just her mile long stare.
I see beyond her wrinkled face;
her head of pale white hair.
I see one who has been well loved
and lived through heartbreak too.
Could learn alot from her I know
before her day is through.
So let me clasp her hand in mine
and listen to her story.
Perhaps we'll share a cup of tea
before her march to glory.
