I Saw the Red Kites! (Rare Birds of Prey)
I saw the Red Kites
flying high in the sky;
What a beautiful site to behold:
As they hovered above
with the sun shining through,
revealing their red, brown and gold.
History tells
about a century ago,
these birds were almost extinct.
I swear I saw one
as it came sweeping down,
give me a mischievous wink.
"We're back (was the message)
and we're here to stay,
sit back and enjoy the view."
Then all of a sudden
they burst out in song,
like a choir right on cue.
