I REMEMBER

I remember when love was born
Out of hearts of men that hoped
Searching now,it's all gone

I remember a time when peace reigned
From eons and eras of good kings and queens
Now lands look soaked and blood stained

I remember when heaven felt close
Songs of praises and worship to the Lord
We now use buildings to stand and pose

I remember hell was something to flee
Thoughts of eternal fire would keep me alert
Yet many walk through in misguided glee

I remember hope was my second name
A bond so sharp it could cut down pillars
We drifted apart, can't remember when
