In Christian mysticism, accepting Christ also carries a deeper inner meaning. It reflects the same reality described in John 3:5-7 ~ being born again. This rebirth marks the falling away of the false self (ego) and the illusion of separation ~ so the true Self, the indwelling Christ, may awaken. Both the esoteric and exoteric interpretations of ‘accepting Christ’ hold truth, and together they offer a more complete and balanced understanding.
