~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inviting, like the first breath of spring,
energizing as the summer rain –
brisk like the winds of an autumn dream,
reviving as the sigh of a winter’s first snow…
laughing amid the shadows of starlight stories,
reflecting the gentle in a subtle warmth
the beauty, the grace, the details in this song
where summertime fades –
beneath the autumn’s soft smile.
Inspiring, like the wonder of yesterday’s light
embracing souls who remember
it is the love of God who transcends
surpassing the music of hesitant wrens,
forcing the beautiful in the seeds of a hope
where light resolves to reveal –
the miracle of His peace, His healing
His will…
promising believers, all who know Him
that joy dances through the music
of a springtime timbre,
erasing the fear from each summer’s tear
reviving the real beneath autumn’s story
risking the cold of a fearless winter storm
surviving the worst –
because His love holds the promise…
wherever I go, whatever I’m feeling
spring, summer or fall –
even during winter’s bitterness,
there is a music that sings me through,
the rhythm of light, reflected
in the new life that He gave me when He saved me…
the new heart, the new hope, the new love
that comes from believing –
He is my heart’s reason and His love is alive in every season…
Jesus, never leaves me –
and the only thing that grieves me,
are the times when I fail Him,
when I let Him down because I’m so imperfect,
no stranger to the darkest shadows,
never sure that I’m capable of making it past the hard,
so that I can offer Him, serve Him…
with a love that is beyond my own capacity for loving
a love that comes from being in His presence,
a love I know - because He holds my hand,
and wherever I go, whatever I face –
there is joy that comes from knowing
His love for me, it is overflowing and I am growing
even when I can’t seem to show it…
I know that He is making me someone more
more kind, more giving, more gracious
more faithful, more sincere, more thankful
more of Him, less of me… and I’m grateful
He is the One who came for me, when I was lost
He lifted me, taught me to trust – in His grace
where I can find the meaning of love, the joy
that comes from knowing – in His presence, where love is glowing
I know what it means to let go of my past, because He found me
He led me through the worst and helped me overcome the struggles
and I’ll forever know the warmth of a heart who is filled with hope,
a heart who sees through the dark…
to the light that He shines wherever I am,
the light of a love who gave me a second chance,
the light of grace who saved me from the shame.
Whatever comes, wherever I am – I know ONE who makes a way
through the shadows, through the pain, through the hard
He is with me, through it all and all I need to do is pray –
with a faith that He gave me when He saved me,
faith that survives because His love is alive,
and, it stills the fears, silences the tears
reminds me that I’m His and that is all I need –
as I serve Him, planting the seed…
of this gospel that assures me – all I need to do is believe!
