I never had

I watch them pass with happy smiles wondering think I of a distant path steps taken not though I did try it was close to me and it could not be children are not born that never grew and were not parents that could never be and of all the cycles down throughout the years all never born and never who grew parents were not with children blessed who could then grow up and parents be but others did have what I could not and the fruit of many years now stand before me and I do wonder what might have been if that one path were not closed to me
