Notes About The Poem

I used to smoke cigarettes, smoke dope, do smack, every f - - thing. First, I couldn't function without it. Then I couldn't do anything with or without it. Then I thought, "This is the end of the line for my fun days." I finally came to the decision that I couldn't do it like that …Ozzy Osbourne

Well done! I can relate, been there, done that! Gave up cigarettes and alcohol at the same time. I've never felt the "need" so strong in my life. It was strong, but I won! This brought that back, and I realized I don't miss it at all anymore, but there is a price for that freedom! Keep up the good work! Ron

All that yearning and hardship condensed into just a few powerful words, Anaya. The combination of wit and determination is very relatable. Excellent job!

He was sure a strange one. Is his wife still alive? I think she used to be a judge on AGT. I love that final line of your poem that you came up with.

I have a strange taste in my mouth. Having never inhaled, snorted, drunk or swallowed anything mind altering because I was too distracted by all teen church activities, then young adult Christian groups, to be exposed to such elements, I simply can't relate. The limerick seems hard hitting and dark, let me take my chastity belt off and think about it. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Such a sharp, vivid snapshot of struggle and craving—all packed into a few punchy lines. The mix of humor and grit really hits home. Great work!

RIP Ozzy. Packed with dense humor and provocative questions… we all have a choice ! I too come from a time where sex drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll were the norm. Happy to say I’m living a healthy lifestyle these days laughing as much as possible and understanding the preciousness of each and every moment with family and loved ones. I love your poems Anya. it’s been so long since I posted, finally have had a chance to do so. Big hugs , I hope you’re smiling, Susan :)

Dear Anaya, Well it makes me want to shake my fist at gloomy weather, shake off regrets, and just let it all roll by for a moment. You’ve made suffering feel sharp and silly and weirdly triumphant, all at once, a rare feat in five quick lines. I am a product of the 60s so Coke, Acid, Ludes, Alcohol were part of my world. I went completely sober in 93 for the sake of my family never looked back. Ozzy here's to you!! Summer Blessings, Dear Anaya, Daniel

Your unveiled and penetrative response welcomed, you have ventured to share sweet Daniel. As Tom Jones would say 'It's not unusual' for 60's generation to take refuge, I too have my history of indulgent pleasures and addictive personality. Congratulations on your 32 yrs of sobriety, family is everything, they must be proud of you. Here's to you dear Daniel! TyVm for your bold and candid visit ~ xblessings

Something else entails, foul mouthing in poetry of late, they are reflecting themselves and just dont see it yet . Conversely, someone who is consistently negative or critical might be said to be reflecting their own insecurities or unhappiness. They go on and on, a creased over ha ha hag encourages racism whilst the queen of hate recruits and manipulates. Meanwhile ~💋 I need a 🚬 Nice to see you Bill! Ty

The world of music has lost an icon! Rest in peace Ozzy. Hopefully, slowly but surely, through poems and stories like yours, Anaya smoking will become an anathema like it should be saving many lives. Thanks for your tribute and your poem. Blessings!

TyVm Sam, I loved the music bands he had, he recruited many guitarists after Randy Roads who went on with their own bands. It's been a while since days of supporting Guitar magazine!

Now Ozzy has embarked on a new journey alas free from illness. A young girl's father had died from lung cancer 6years after quitting! Hacking up, my worst pet-peeve and the neighbors outside do that and so here is my message to them..... "Quit smoking" I quit smoking 16 years ago.

Hey GW Robert has a response to your "Give Peace a Chance song its called..." Day by Day DEI" it's not bad. Ty for visiting have a nice week.

Ozzy became good friends with his neighbor Pat Boone in the Hollywood Hills what an odd couple! Pat's fans wouldn't forgive him for dressing like Ozzy in good fun, while Ozzy's fan's found it funny. RIP Ozzy.

That is a great fact, seems he's always getting into trouble, good Ol' Ozzy, wild and carefree, he deserves an exceptional tribute, I have played on his quote above as he was a heavy smoker like many. Funny is your fact, Lol Robert, TyVm for your kind visit! ~💋 I need a 🚬
