I Miss You
The sad memories of you are haunting me,
of all the things you said and did,
the advice I never used but soon will,
the songs I recall as a kid.
It's the way that you would stick up for me,
the tender way you called my name,
it's the way you gave me fun piggy-back rides
and went to every soccer game.
It's the way that I remember everything,
like you teaching me wrong from right,
and how we spend all our time at the park
where I first learned to fly a kite.
The warm holidays we shared together
the Christmases and Halloweens.
When you gladly took me trick-or-treating,
and when we decorated the tree.
I remember and that is what causes tears,
playing with snow in December
playing in the rain, teaching me to swing.
All times, I'll always remember.
