I Made Room For Jesus

The window to my broken past
     Has shattered.
I have walked into the dreams
     That seemed so far away.
The fog has lifted, I have sifted
     Through the things that mattered.
Finding nothing left of yesterday.

'Cause I made room for Jesus in my life.
He helps me with my worries and my strife.
I pray to him each day, for guidance on my way.
Yes, I made room for Jesus in my life.

The cries of loneliness have turned
     To laughter.
The wind has carried me above
     The sea I drifted on.
I live again, he's my best friend.
     There's no more looking after,
The lost an lonely man, for he is gone.

'Cause I reached out for Jesus with my hand.
I knew he'd be the one to understand,
His spirit entered me, I felt so calm and free.
'Cause I reached out for Jesus with my hand.

The road is rocky but he's there
     To listen,
As I move ever closer to
     The love within his heart.
The days are bright, I see the light.
     My eyes begin to glisten,
With the love and faith that Jesus can impart.

Oh, I made room for Jesus, can't you see.
And Jesus, he has lots of room for me.
I pray to him each day, For guidance on my way.
Oh, I made room for Jesus can't you see.

A heartfelt poem that I know many others will be able to identify with. And I am glad that your included the line that God also makes room in his life for us. I praise Him for opening His love and forgiveness to us daily. ~~~Darlene

Dear, Robert, you have written a most beautiful testimony.. I love a lot of poems I read on the soup, but very few move me.. This one moves me, my friend... I believe this poem will touch and perhaps even convict many hearts.. Hugs to you, my brother in Christ.. Arlene

I'm glad I guessed right about your song. And how nice you thought of the shepherd in heaven when I did that lamb haiku. It really did not occur to me until later that it could also be taken that way!

Dear Rpbert, Some folks don't know how much faith can transform our lives. I always turn to Jesus when I feel the need for guidance. I hope those who read your poem will appreciate the reminder as much as I did. Well penned! As per your question, ;D yes, I named my owl Grace, thus the title "Saving Grace." I sure miss her. Love, Carolyn
