I Loved You

"I loved you"

I loved you when we met
the day that was only a glance

I loved you on our next encounter
a time when we couldn't utter a word

I loved you still when moments became moments
and a single word became a sentence

I loved you further that one fine day
the beginning of an embrace with more to grow

I loved you then I love you now 
bright is each glance strong is each embrace
