I Love You

Why is it so hard for you to say?
I love you
would have made me try another day;
a world of hearts have broken,
if only these words were spoken,
I love you~ goes a long way

You're kind, and otherwise attentive;
in many ways charming, inventive;
but my heart needed more incentive

I love you goes a long way -- 
I love you would have made me
try another day;

I love you, a heart's longevity -- 
not fully satisfied with gifts nor
bright levity

our shared laughs and good times
will always be cherished, but without
three words, even a profound love with
time will perish

I love you you could not say

I love you goes a long way....

DiMino September 9, 2024 at 7:22 AM They can: depends on who, where, when and how. Certainly words without action are meaningless. The best is the two combined. Even our spontaneous actions have words behind them. We think and feel our words, that's how words came into being. We felt something, and made a word to express it. Consciously we may not say, and just do it -- that is why our loved ones give us grace...but the heart longs to hear it...needs to hear I love you, spoken clearly, truly from the awake heart. Just my opinion. And I am not a professional counselor my children will attest at times.

There are so many songs about this, the one that springs to mind is the one by extreme and more than words.. As i personally believe actions speak louder than words... Joseph P. DiMino September 8, 2024 at 1:23 PM Absolutely, actions are powerful. But words can be just as powerful, even more so. More than a punch, many a man has felt his life entirely destroyed by, I do not love you anymore. Words are the action of speaking, can be quite devastating. Flowers and deep felt honest, loving words are the perfect combination. If words are sincerely spoken, then they have manifest power.

Valsa George September 7, 2024 at 10:14 PM Agree with you cent percent, Joe. Those words are so magical . More than expensive gifts, the words- 'I love you' are valued. But for some, it is so difficult to utter. I am not talking about empty words. If said with sincerity, these words can keep the relationship alive and marriage, a passionate union for ever. Joseph P. Sometimes just hearing it spoken a lot is kind of meaningless. Always was fond of the expression Actions speak louder than words. Joseph P. DiMino September 7, 2024 at 10:47 AM Absolutely! Actions speak louder than mere words. But not to forget that, words sincerely spoken embody the latent power of action. God spoke the world into being. A living word. Words heart-fully spoken, are spiritual archetypes -- patterns behind deeds and physical bloom. What we say, with feeling, therefore, will, given time manifests in a world of physical attributes. Another example of why prayer is important. What we profoundly think, is heard by the entire Universe. Little old us. And, at some point, there will be a noticeable response.

Ink Empress September 7, 2024 at 9:15 AM So true, but sometimes, different people have different ways of expressing. Its important to find out ones love language. For me my love language is words and reassurance. So for me “ i love you” and those simple things really matter more than material things or actions.
