I Love Small Boxed Faces

Soupers often engage in emotional ways. There can be depth in what two might exchange. When someone leaves our shared Soup domain, their diminished light is a missed, valued sight. Some remarks feel like word-shaped embraces and time together often leaves valued traces. Is is not odd, just plain strange, as well as an ache that Soup relationships are both close and remote? I have missed your small-boxed faces, your writes and presence on my pages. I wonder if other soup pals also ponder the restrictions our bonds form under. I recall the joys of our hellos and ‘getting to knows’ But ‘byes and why-gone words’ are silent blows. It must be a new age emotional feeling the internet brought into being so people everywhere could connect. Dog-gone-it, doesn’t connect sound ironic? … CayCay January 16, 2025

Howdy, my new friend. I love this poem of yours. Poetry can be a window to someone's soul, their thoughts, emotions and the way they see the world. Just reading it can be an insight into someone, a kind of connection small talk can't provide. I think that's the beauty of this site - strangers don't feel like strangers. Maybe that's why it's hard to let go if/when someone leaves, but I'm just glad they had the courage to share some part of themselves here. My thoughts only <3 Keep Shining

Indeed, that is a worry that I too have. It is sad, especially for online friends that you do not have any means of contacting otherwise, that were suddenly there and then not :/

I agree with your comments on the positive side of our relationships, but it is purely a negative, to me, that we do not know what has happened to someone we've grown to care about, we may never know and have only wonderment and sadness.

So glad you called in this this year. i have often thought of you dear friend, and even wrote to you once a year or so ago. I couldn't bear that my best friend was no longer around and that the silly hat we shared I no longer had any desire to wear . Blessings galore Jannifer - Jen.

Wow. I had no idea you were back until Jan told me just yesterday. You are so precious. I will fave your lovely poem. I rarely see poems from the soup list. I only comment from the list of people commenting to me. Otherwise, id have responded sooner. So nice to see you back

CayCay, in 2015 I posted my first poem on PS and you were the first person to welcome me with such kind comments. I’ll never forget that, so I am delighted that you’ve returned to share yourself and your poetry with us. Hugs!

You are one the people I feel an urge to run to and hug, whether you wish it or not. I missed you. (even though I won't know why or when you actually or didn't permanently leave one day.) Hugs ... CayCay
