I Long To Live In a World Governed By Peace

I long to live in a world governed by peace,
A world where love reigns for you and me;
In order for that to happen hate must cease.

A place where respect will really increase,
So wars and dictatorships can no longer be.
I long to live in a world governed by peace.

Then love can take place; it’ll be a sweet release,
We'll see people like God intended us to see.
In order for that to happen hate must cease.

We must read the word and be God's mouthpiece,
It shows us how to walk in love and obtain unity.
I long to live in a world governed by peace.

Then one day all evil in the world will decrease.
Living in harmony is the cure for all this misery,
In order for that to happen hate must cease.

Our stay on earth is temporary, we're on a lease,
With this in mind, pray for animosity to flee.
I long to live in a world governed by peace,
In order for that to happen hate must cease.

Hi Alexis, my dear friend I am sorry I have not been in touch, you are on my mind so often, but I have not been well for about 2 months and my comments have really fallen behind. This poem is really beautiful, it reflects your kindness from deep within. We, the land of 'Poetry 'Soup' do elect Alexis, to be World Leader, and hereby nominate her for the Nobel 'Peace' Prize'. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

Congratulations on your winning entry in the contest. I too would like to live in a world governed by peace, but unfortunately power and greed seems to prevail since the beginning of time. If only your heartfelt words could touch those who govern. :)Paulette :)Paulette

The smallest child does not hesitate to grab what it fancies. It takes an education to understand the consequences, yet nations continue spending more on the military than on education! Enjoyed! Aloha!

Borderless, weapon-free world … we all wish the same but looking back, we see history repeating itself.
