I am going to miss you
That distant mirage
In the simmering heat
That clash
With indentured
Culture
And beat
An out of step
Brolga
In a mating
Meet
I just want to thank you
For your
Endless summer
I never had to ask myself
How many were left
Only
How many beaches
Left
To explore
I appreciate
All you did for me
Like the comfort
Of a northern breeze
And
Know now
The debt
To which
I can not
Repay
Yet
Shared memories
Will break me
Into a smile
Just remember
Just remember
I respected you
My love
In all
Your natural beauty
And guises
