I Hear Santas Sleigh
I HEAR SANTA’S SLEIGH
ooh, i hear Santa’s sleigh!
how much does he weigh
and his payload and deer -
will my roof hold up this year?
his white fur boots precarious -
i shouldn’t think him nefarious,
yet he climbs into my home
leaving me gifts of crumbs and loam.
the shivering reindeer bells too loud
like a too White Christmas crowd -
a disheveled snow avalanche in my ear
those naughty tapping hoofs of deer.
“...and to all a good night,”
as the big man drives out of sight,
and i want badly to give him the finger
as the foul smell of droppings linger.
