I Drove You Away

I loved you so much, That I drove you away. And it hurts deep inside, That I won’t hear you say, Anything in your tone again; I’ll never hear your voice. My mistakes caught up, And I made a poor choice. I miss you and I love you, And I know I always will. It hard going on without you, My broken heart won’t heal. You’re always in my mind, I think about you everyday. And I loved you so much, That I drove you away. _______________ Note: just a poem

It has to be the hardest thing to not hear someone's voice. On top of that faulting ourselves. Great poem, your words are worth reading............Danielle

Raul this poem speaks a far to often truth - I have found that often people see those they love as something to possess rather than caress - great job on this - God Bless, MJ

It's sad how we can drive people away with some poor choices. I think most will relate to this poem. Nice use of rhyme. Glad it is just a poem and not about you. Keep on writing. Thanks for your kind comment on my poem. Have a nice day! Karen

Raul, hope this is not a reflection on reality, as it is definitely their loss. Awesome rhyme and flow edged in sadness and longing. So sorry to read about my friend HG below. Love, Shar

Sure it's just a poem..? We often write about things that have touched us deeply. Its a really nice write, regardless. I always look forward to seeing your posts. BG

Nicely done, Raul....(and so glad to know it is just a poem, otherwise, it would be even more sad to know that this was real). Carrie

Very interesting, much to think about here..I do know from experience that it is possible to love someone so much you feel like if they were gone, that life could not go on..But when they leave , you are still there and life went on... Sometimes it's true love and other times it's obsession..the fear of not wanting to be alone..Maybe..I guess each situation is different..Nevertheless Excellent write..*God Bless Tyesha

How ironic...to love someone too much. But I do know this to be true. Of course, it does make one wonder...is it really love? Or neediness? Hmmm...Well done, Raul. Donna G.
