I Don'T Know Who I Am
I don’t know who I am
I cannot decipher my worth
From seeing the curve of my lips,
Feeling my lavender tresses,
Or listening to the the thoughts festering in my mind.
However, I am pushing through the mist
fogging my motivation
My art is seen by the eyes of others,
Instead of being kept hidden from the world
I will know who I am
I will look at the way my wrists move while I paint,
I will listen to every melody that plays through my head,
And I will look at the curve of my lips
While I tell my stories to the stars,
Hoping that my words echo onto the clouds
And remain written in the sunrise for all to see.
Then maybe I will finally know who I am.
