I Don'T Get It

Am I but the punchline to life’s joke? Too rational to follow the punchline or duck its punch . Too trusting of humans being less than they profess, scarred by the self-centered declarations of the sanctimonious charlatans. And yet I believe in life’s journey. It’s twist and turns and torments joys and grand achievements i.e. learning the alphabet, memorizing the “guzinta’s”, rocking a baby to sleep, listening to an old man’s story, teaching someone something new allowing them to do the same. Thus, do I play the game of life unsure of its rules or if there are any showing up, reporting for duty searching for the answer to the seemingly unanswerable question “What’s it all about?” John G. It is as if you opened your brain and poured this out onto the page, John. "I believe in life’s journey. It’s twist and turns and torments joys and grand achievements i.e. learning the alphabet, memorizing the “guzinta’s”, rocking a baby to sleep, listening to an old man’s story," There is such a wonderful naturalness to this poem!

Love this introspective write John . I too believe in life's journey. The twists and turns are what give everything perspective. I like teaching someone something new allowing them to do the same. It is the simple things that last. All the best, Susan :)

Of course, you must play the game of "LIfe" ...it's in the cards, John. Remember, some hands are worse than others, but some are also better. Let us pray the better come more oft.

Hello John ... I guess we should question everything but then we lose our trust. This darn covid is making us wary of other humans, similar to a wild animal - thank you John - Lindsay

John, hi! I’m 71+ 2wks, a old lady now. I’ve only skimmed those questions recently tho they were a full mind ache before I was 40. God led me to my own meanin after a coma when I was 69. Working on that is my primary job now. Being as supportive give & spreading hope, I do for others. Enjoy your style!

I certainly hope when you get the answer to "What's it all about?" you will let us in on the grand scheme of things, okay? And, FGS, let us know who is in charge! Good writing, John.

Great writing John. Introspection and great expression. I see you as a great writer, not a punch line to life's joke, but you have come up with these creative lines :)
