I Died Inside
when you left
i died a little bit inside
truth be told
that’s not quite right
it was more than a little
you left a gaping hole
a wedge inside my heart
perpetual the dying
an open wound
that could never heal
raw
burning
persistent
obstinate
tenacious
inconsolable
a relentless throbbing ache
since you left
little by little i died inside
