I Didn'T Write a Poem Today
I didn't write a poem today
I left it somewhere in the trees
The breeze said listen softly
Past the effort and the ease
The eve was in the willows
Whispers far from home or land
Words fell from to my footsteps
Where I took a look to stand
The all was not in any answer
Since I gave them all away
Today my poem has echoes
Past the leaves that never stay
Like a sorrow and an always
The lines are not in tracks
The poem says give is easy
When you never get it back
