I Could Never Stop Loving You
our youth seemed easy even
with our broken smiles-
time withered into years later
and now
forever continues on
we shared every emotion
God created in the last
twenty-three years;
some left us breathless and
some left us weeping,
now the nights seem brighter
and morn comes too soon

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
skipping pebbles along the
shore as we tarry above
the grains where we first
met
the day my life changed
forever and I didn’t even know it
youthful demons blinded me
even when love was given
with ease-
insecurity molded into
confidence because of you,
my sweet love
living a life of compassionate
intimacy,
based on trust and loyalty, are we-
-our eternal sole purpose-
fearing nothing and everything
at the same time,
needing nothing but the comfort
of strong arms embracing me
during winter’s depressed
state
for you are mine and we are
one,
and together we shall explore
our adoration-
here and there and everywhere,
we shall build the most vibrant
foundation
so, tell me sweetheart-
how can I stop loving you?
