I Could Be Working

I could be working. They pay me enough. But I am on vacation a few weeks ahead of the others. You see, I am the school counselor. No one knows what I do. I usually work. Not today. Today is all about me. As was yesterday and the day before. It takes all of my energy to do lunch duty. That is enough. It is all I can give. I have nothing else.

Frankly, I don't think you should have to pull lunch duty, Caren. I think that's a bridge too far. But, I don't run the place, so I suppose you have to do what you are required to do. I would have made them put a clause in my contract eliminating lunch duty. They might've. You never know. Too late now, eh?

The head of the counseling department told the principals that we are absolutely NOT to do lunch duty, but since it is nearly the end of the year and I have done it EVERY day since the beginning of the year I let my principal know I will do it the rest of this year but NOT next year.
