I Chase a Dream

I chase a dream I chase a dream that awakens my smile Night after night till dawn breaks alive When sun glows bright in eager skies, And longingly I meander by your side As we travel together on this rough ride Where patches of strife hurt our pride. There we encounter some stormy winds And suddenly our love begins to unwind Believing we must own unending sunshine. Though we stay together quite some time You ultimately decline to be my bride As tribulations of life cause a fleeting divide. Now as I fantasize under remnants of twilight, I'm eager for your kiss beneath avid moonlight, Thrilled that you agreed to see me tonight. And I await your arrival where we first met Under the canopy of sky wearing a sunset Riding on emotions, hoping you'll say yes. And I keep waiting through the lonely night Till I realize you have changed your mind As I surrender to anguish one more time. December 4, 2017

A recurrence of heartbreak; how much can a fragile heart cope with! Sad, but beautiful, Vijay. Regards // paul

Such beautifully sad sentiments Vijay of lost love, that is about to be found again only to have your loving hopes and dreams dashed once more. Your forlorn feelings are wonderfully expressed in your melancholy musings. Warmest wishes. ~Susan

This is so heartbreaking Vijay. You deftly bring me on the emotional journey, back and forth, hope and longing and then sad despair. Great write! ~ Judy

Oh my, surrendering to anguish one more time. You really captured the essence of your meaning in that last verse. Longing and being let down both are portrayed poignantly in your poem, Vijay.
