I Can Take the Scary Book Away

Eloise’s fists tightened harder as she read this adventure story. It was full of perils and dangers, with a protagonist name of Glory. Her hazel eyes got bigger, and her excited heart was pumping. By the time she got to chapter nine, her throat was jumping. Her mother came by and said, “why do you read books like that?” Now Eloise was hidden under the covers, reading to her scared cat. Her mother offered to take the ominous novel away. Eloise said “Please don’t! I can't wait for the ending another day."
