I BOW NOT TO THE GOD OF MONEY
Seeking for help to God above
Here I am pleading for my soul
not for money but for real love...
oh, so longing to be made whole.
In praying to the Almighty
my heart wrestles midst earnest plight
as teardrops show tenacity
for freedom from greediness' flight.
Bowing to the Lord does bring joy
midst struggles due to hard work's pain
smiting worry and doubt that annoy
against worldly cravings so vain.
I flee from the god of money
toward Christ's inviting altar
with His words sweeter than honey
knowing by faith, He's never far.
I adore the heavenly King
Who grants eternal salvation
guarding me from ruin's lurking
brought by love of money*'s sanction.
To the god of money and gold
You are what my spirit resists
midst great destruction you unfold
since in God of love, grace persists.
1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
