I beg to differ with those romantics
  who imagine a farm is like a zoo

They've never smelled a cow go moo
  or cleaned a coop of chicken poo

But do not both a zoo and a farm have the poo? I had always seen it spelled pooh, so this is a new spelling for me. I have no doubt you are right however.

My father was a farmer, all of his working life, from 12 to 18 hours a day. love the poem, Gershon, and what about the Pig sty?

Ha, ha! I 've only lived and worked on kosher farms (in Israel), so I didn't think of pigs... Anyway, nothing like the dust and poop in chicken coops... Here's to farmers! :) gw
