I am Sure it Wll Be Fine

it is a strange house, I had been warned. I smiled at my fiancé’s hesitation. I am sure it will be fine, I assured him. We arrived an hour after dusk. We had travelled through lots of snowy woods. They seemed beautiful the first hour or two. I was not bored with them, but I was ready to get out. In the distance there was an imposing tower of sorts. See that fortress on top of the hill? “Uh-huh”. That is my parents’ home. I stared at it, wondering what was happening. It looked like the kind of a place that might have a moat with alligators and a dungeon. I did not realize I was holding my breath at first. When I let it out my fiancé’ laughed. “A bit intimidating, right?” I had no words. I was wondering where he was bringing me. Feeling threatened and frightened.
