I Am Poetry

I'm infinitely more 
than just words 
on a blank paige
         I am...
 tenderness
a beautiful art form
        a cry
             a scream
      a painter 
 of images and moments 
    I'm born...
 out of a restless pen 
           bleeding ink
I'm a dragon  
breathing fiery passion
metaphors galore
I am  a weaver 
of thought processes
       I'm beauty 
in ugliness
imagination
              in flight
         a pathway 
to your heart and mind 
      the author 
     of joy and pain 
 an evocation 
of feeling
an emotional rollercoaster
a wilderness 
         to be explored 
  a  door 
           to be opened 
    an itch
 to be scratched.
a jigsaw puzzle 
      to be solved
I take you 
          through the window 
of dreams and possibilities
you read me
       and wonder to yourself...
"how do you know that about me?"
