I Am Cold Lightning

I am God's experience,
I wonder how my poetry breathes into you...
I hear souls scream like diamonds breaking,
I see bodies move slowly into smooth suffering,
I want life to love my sorrow,
I am a victory alive in volatile grace...

I pretend that fatality is a warm mercy,
I feel that I have a right to express my pain,
I touch the heartbeats of hope with hesitant eyes,
I cry blood of sensitive awareness,
I am alive in the heat of paused death...

J.A.B., this is electric and devastating--like a soul caught mid-transformation. “I am God's experience” stopped me cold. What a line. What a truth. And the way you frame each stanza with “I”--not as ego, but as essence, as witness to pain and power--is deeply moving. You don’t just write poetry. You bleed it into being. This piece hums with divine contradiction--hope and sorrow, mercy and fire. You are cold lightning, indeed. And your words strike with purpose. --Alesia

The cusp of a crossover, the edge between All and no more, a testing of depth Poetess. I appreciate what you say "I" not as ego, rather as essence. Your analysis' of my work is profound, and very accurate...J.A.B.

Gloriously powerful piece! “I want life to love my sorrow”.. speaks to me.” I touch the heartbeats of hope with hesitant eyes” such a candid line, so lovely. Always, Laura
