I Am Bored With Chit-Chat

Like a target, you zero in on me
And begin your chit-chatting…

But I don’t care if you took some test,
Or how many times you had to guess.
Or where your faceless friends were sitting,
Or if you wore your lucky ribbon.

Let’s talk about something “real,”
Something deep, something you feel.
I don’t care if it’s going to rain;
The weather channel will tell me the same.

Don’t you care about
Victims of the tsunami?
Isn’t the state of the world
Alarming?

Don’t you care that your husband’s
Cheating on you?
With your neighbor no less,
Marylou?

“Oh,” you say, “but her hair is so cool.”
Right, I nod, and begin to drool…

This is wonderful. Susan, and so very true, people can be so self centered at times, not seeing the tragedy in the world, congratulations on your win in that contest, well deserved~~

so as i am going to write next, your last two days poems are you, with a dash of me thrown in to make it spicey....NEED I SAY MORE? I want to sustain myself on your words, not food. i wrote u a whole long soupmail why i want my stuph to be as perfect as it can get, and for that i need someone whose poetry i relate to on an exponential level....LOOK GIRL, i sent that mail to the wrong person, so are you maybe by any chance a poet/life coach? yours fondly and in friendship, ~free!~

LOOK DUDE! yesterday's poem, which has a Martian word for a title was simply YOU.need i say more? today Chit Chat I had that sentiment exactly on 1 of the 3 poetry rooms profiles i got kicked out of i wrote u a whole bunch of reasons why i'd wasn't kidding about looking them over first. you picked out a missing word today.see, isn't that enough to help a mentally deranged poet write me if you want at [email protected] so i have more words.like pls do this for me ever fondly free

Yes, this really is both sad and funny, Susan. Some people just love to listen to their own voices and babble on about meaningless trivia. If her husband's cheating with the neighbor, you'd think that's what she'd need to discuss with a friend. Great entry for the contest and I wish ou success! Love, Carolyn

Funny and kind of sad at the same time. An excellent piece of satirical writing! Thanks for your visit and kind words. Robert.
